The Yeongdo Lighthouse, one of Taejongdae scenic spots stands 30.46m high on the hill of 54m high. It is located at 35° 02.9' North latitude and 129° 05.7' East longitude. It is called Taejongdae Lighthouse but its official name is Yeongdo Lighthouse. The Yeongdo Lighthouse was built in Dec. 1906, and it was operated for about 100 years.

The facilities were repaired over the period of three and a half years and reopened on August 4, 2004. The new Yeongdo Lighthouse was built in an environment-friendly way that the building is in harmony with nature. Visitors can enjoy walking on a narrow path along the hillside as well as on the wide beach.
